Located inside the building of the European Uyghur Institute, the Tea house (Chayxana) is decorated following the traditional features of Central Asian culture. It sells typical teas, pastries and snacks, and also reproduces the atmosphere of Central Asian tea houses were people used to sit, drink and talk for hours. It is the only place of this kind in France where one can actually feel the cultural specificities of the region. Visitors can come to have a tea while looking through a magazine or a book picked up on the shelves of the Institute’s library. You are more than welcome in this unique place in Paris where one can discover tea culture just like it is practiced in Central Asia.
